Wiggle and Learn… With Toons for Toddlers!

Without a word of lie, I have hummed The Wiggles’ theme song in my head at least once per day for the last, oh, three years or so.

“Wiggle, and learn… Dance to the rhythm of mu-u-sic!”

It’s just one of those insanely catchy jingles that transcends generations and often, common sense. WHY am I singing along to this song instead of paying my tax bill?

“Wiggle, and learn… Let’s have some fun.”

If you find yourself doing the same, and your kids are fond of Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Sam – join Toons for Toddlers for an exclusive 60 minute screening of The Wiggles Big Birthday! The short film will be available in selected cities across Canada on October 20th & 21st, including Toronto, Ottawa, London, Cobourg, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon and Vancouver.

Why Toons for Toddlers? Well, have you ever tried to take your little one to enjoy a movie in the theatre? With the normal animated fare from the big studios… the lights go dark, the sound booms through the speakers and after two minutes – yeah, your little one is hollering to go home. Happened to my little guy at the premiere of Finding Nemo 3D! And often, even at the most exciting box office smashes, toddlers reach their attention threshold at about an hour and lose interest in the feature.

Toons for Toddlers has a solution: 60 minute, toddler friendly, weekend screenings that run with lights left dim and reduced sound levels. Bonus: Tickets are just $6 each – babes in arms are free!

For folks in the GTA, screenings for The Wiggles Big Birthday will be held on either Saturday, October 20th or Sunday, October 21st. Participating theatres include Rainbow Cinemas Promenade (Thornhill), Rainbow Cinemas Market Square (Front & Jarvis), Rainbow Cinemas Woodbine (Etobicoke), The Fox Cinema in the Beach and Revue Cinema High Park. A full list of screenings, dates and times are available on the Toons for Toddlers website.

Ryder and Reid have long been fans of The Wiggles and their lovably goofy cast of characters. The silly – yet wholesome – programming has the boys singing, dancing, and wiggling all over the place, of course!

Inside Scoop: The original cast is currently being disbanded and a new wave of Wiggles are about to come on board. (After 20 years, I guess you can only Wiggle so much without throwing out your back!) The Toons for Toddlers screening is the best of the original Wiggles gang, celebrating two decades of Wiggle-dom! As an added bonus, there will be a 10 minute sneak peak of Dino Dan, and at the end of the show, each child will receive a small gift (colouring sheet, stickers, etc).

So… will you be Wiggling along with The Wiggles next weekend?
